  • On that stretch of road.

three kilometres from here is a long, wide road

    made of cement

it is not very long but long enough

it is another world driving on that stretch of road

the air is so pure, if I close my eyes I become calm in a second

thousands cross that road each day but nobody stops on it

and takes a moment to just breathe

and listen to the nature’s song

    I go there sometimes

what I fail to find here, I desire to find it there

    sometimes, the sunset is short.

  • War music.

I closed my eyes to feel the symphony

    Handel was playing so beautifully

like a war was coming and men were readying themselves to spill their blood

    and that of others

there is something in music that pulls me to it

those were war days unlike yesterday and today

today, man cannot die with a laughter on his face

    he is incapable of it

his brain has filled with crap

he is not here anymore; anyone who is not here

has no chance at a good laughter.

  • Fluctuations.

this brightness is too bright, it kills inspiration and everything else

I wait for it to diminish and once that happens, I can stop waiting for it to diminish

    and do something else

right now, each point is on fire that connects to every other point behind these cracked walls

I touch each point with certain fear

the game is no less fun but for how long can this game keep running

heavy rains have washed all the roads

all the clouds have emptied on our roofs and in our balconies

a natural excrement and I returned home all wet.

  • Leave now than later.

for a minute standing here is alright

in the mild torment of rainy winds

they carry only coldness to my skin

they feel alright for a minute

thereafter, my bones start failing to comply

an urge to run there, to that lone bulb glowing

and stand underneath it and just that

this home will be left behind me

    for a little while

I will be looking at it from there

    leave now than later.

  • Sitting outside.

when has this sky bled so beautifully

as it is bleeding right now

its blood was golden a while ago

a few looked at it like I did

now the blood has travelled beyond those mountains

    that I will never reach,

    not today.

  • Something when you aren’t there.

    the sun had to set

if clouds have to gather tonight, my wishing otherwise has already gone in vain

is avoiding food an aversion to living?

what am I to do now sitting cross-legged, in pain on this bleeding base

I could switch off these lights again but I cannot for at least as long as the typing

    is going on

    going on

what am I to do now sitting here, it is undesirable to even step outside

the ocean has drifted from its usual place of flowing and now it is breaking down all over my head

I avoid looking at my home while it makes an attempt to fill itself with rainwater

before tomorrow morning, nothing much is possible in any world.

  • Paperback available now.

I returned from hell a while ago. A new devil has arrived. Arrived after months of waiting. The roads here are again full of people. As usual, they gather wherever they want to. Their gathering is often without reason. Who has got the balls to ask them to go home? I am sitting outside, listening to Debussy, to his fingers cracking down on piano. A soft breeze has wrapped my body. A man gathers all his pain and pours it into his cello and starts playing. So melodious and heartbreaking. Why not break today? Tomorrow might bring something better. Why not break into this melody and flow out of here to somewhere else?

  • Another, no better way.

my hair has grown beyond acceptable limit

    my face has swollen, sagged

    my clothes all muddied

whenever people look at me, they say,

‘This is the same man from yesterday. Nothing changes.’

  • Anticipation

    right before my eyes
    another sun has set
    the dark fang of plague
is finally here, ready to rip
    my skin
my eyes close on the touch
    of a breeze
my nose adjusts to the absence
    of smell
    i am slipping
    out of this place,
    out of this body.
